Day 18: Contribute Through Reflection

Focus Area - Contribute
Using our gifts, talents, & resources to glorify God & serve His kingdom.
Scriptures: Psalm 139:23-24, Lamentations 3:40
Reflection: Reflecting on God’s work in our lives helps us grow in gratitude and trust for the future.

Expanded Focus
Reflection allows us to pause and consider God’s faithfulness in our lives. Psalm 139:23-24 invites us to welcome God’s examination of our hearts: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” This scripture challenges us to open ourselves fully to God’s insight, trusting Him to reveal areas of growth while leading us on the path of righteousness. Lamentations 3:40 urges us to “examine our ways and return to the Lord,” emphasizing self-reflection as a step toward spiritual renewal.

Reflection builds gratitude as it helps us recognize how God has guided, provided, and transformed us. By looking back on His faithfulness, we find encouragement to face the uncertainties of the future with trust in His promises. Reflection fosters humility, helping us identify areas where we have fallen short and inviting us to surrender more fully to God. This practice aligns our hearts with His purpose, enabling us to grow closer to Him and to one another.

Reflection isn’t just about looking backward; it also helps us discern God’s direction for the days ahead. Have you been wrestling with a decision? Reflection creates the space for God to guide your next steps. It encourages us to pause and listen for His leading.

As a church community, reflection helps us see how God has been working in our shared ministry. It allows us to celebrate victories, seek His guidance, and remember that our work is not in vain. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in us.

Contributing through reflection helps us grow with one another by fostering gratitude, encouraging self-examination, and inspiring trust in God’s plan for our lives and relationships.

Questions to Consider
  1. What has God revealed to you during this season of reflection about His faithfulness and your spiritual journey?
  2. How can self-examination help you grow in your faith and relationships, both with God and others?
  3. In what ways can reflecting on God’s work inspire you to contribute more fully to His kingdom?
